Mums and dass don’t forget to get your children a stall at tomorrow’s CHILDREN’S CREATIVE MARKET that will be an addition to the traditional Sunday Growers Green Farmers Market.

The stall bays are only $ 5.00 for the kids and they will have fun and can sell some of their art, used clothes, toys, etc.

There is live music, many fresh fruit and vegetable stalls, food stalls, bread, pastries, meat, fish, etc.

The Growers Green is THE community event to be in Fremantle on a Sunday morning. Open from 8 am till noon at the South Fremantle Senior High School on Lefroy Road, Beaconsfield.

The Growers Green Sunday farmers market will have a very special CHILDREN’S CREATIVE MARKET this Sunday as well, where kids can sell their toys, art, clothes, etc.

GROWERS GREEN MARKET IS BACK!

 

After a well-deserved Christmas break the delightful Fremantle GROWERS GREEN Farmers Market will be back this Sunday and every Sunday from 8 am till noon. It is a great community event to buy fresh produce and catch up with friends over breakfast.

Farmer Damian’s animal touch farm will be there and Fairy Sandy and the face painting fairies and of course there will be live music by local Freo musicians.

The market is held at the South Fremantle Senior High School at Lefroy Road, Beaconsfield. See you there!

THE GROWERS GREEN CHRISTMAS PARTY

 

Today is the last GROWERS GREEN FARMERS MARKET of 2015 at the South Fremantle Senior High School on Lefroy Road, so don’t miss it! It will be a big market with fantastic Christmas presents on offer and of course all the great fresh produce, organic fruit and vegetables, bread, pastries, fish, meat, eggs, etc.

There will be very special entertainment by Kavisha and Giri Mazzella in the music tent from 9-11.30 and Voicebox will perform Poems of Peace and Goodwill from 9-10.30.

But there is more!! (Sorry, no steak knives) The Growers Green Christmas Party is on at the Hilton Bowling Club from 2 pm on. Free entry, live music, barefoot bowling and drinks at club prices, so join the community fun!

The Growers Green market has raised many thousands of dollars over the last years to support the South Freo senior high school, so your support for the market is also a support for the school and community.

HISTORIC FREO MARKETS PUB TO CLOSE

It is disappointing that the owners of the Fremantle Markets pub have called it a day because of a steep 38 per cent rent increase by the Murdoch family who operate the markets. The pub was a bit of an iconic go-to destination for many Freo locals and regular visitors to the markets and it is a shame that the financial bottom line mattered more to the market operators than the pub’s historic tradition and community aspects.

The word greed is mentioned a few times on Facebook by disgruntled supporters of the pub and while every business has got the right to maximise profits they also have a corporate responsibility to the community. There is still huge resentment in some parts of the Fremantle community that the Murdochs were given the lease for the markets by the City of Fremantle and some people also resent the changes and modernisation of the historic markets.

I believe the markets have improved with a much better food hall, so it is a shame that the closure of the pub will see more negativity popping up.

GROWERS GREEN FREO’S BEST COMMUNITY MARKET

 

The Fremantle Growers Green farmers market is on again today from 8 to midday at the South Fremantle Senior High School at Lefroy Road. It’s a big one again with lots of craft and goods stalls, heaps of fruit and vegies, breads, pastries, meat, fish, and of course yummy breakfast and coffee.

There is face painting by fairies for the children, and animal touch farm and live music by local Freo musos and it is the most relaxing market around.

There will be live music, Damian’s animal touch farm, face painting and Fairy Sandie, lots and lots of yummy breakfast and coffee, etc. It’s just a great place to hang out on a Sunday morning and catch up with friends, network a bit, see some amazing dogs and just chill. My favourite farmers market, the Fremantle GROWERS GREEN Sunday market is on again tomorrow between 8 am and midday, so go for a browse, shop for food, have a yummy breakfast or coffee, get your face painted, watch sheep getting sheared, listen to local music and catch up with your local community.

It is fun and relaxing and there always a lot of cute dogs on parade as well, and of course Fairy Sandy will be entertaining the kids!

The GROWERS GREEN FARMERS MARKET, Fremantle’s all year and all weather community market is on again on Sunday morning from 8 am to midday. There is lots of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale as well as bread, pastries, and great breakfast and coffee delights.

The markets raise funds for the South Fremantle Senior High School and recently had all their sound and other equipment stolen, so go and support them! The weather looks promising for tomorrow, so come along.
