IS FORTNIGHTLY RUBBISH COLLECTION A GOOD IDEA?

Posted in city of fremantle, environment, local government, organic, rubbish, Uncategorized by freoview on March 6, 2019

The City of Fremantle will be rolling out its FOGO three-bin rubbish collection from July/August this year, when 13,000 households will be receiving the Food Organic Garden Organic bin in addition to the normal household rubbish bin and the recycling bin.

It is going to cost around $ 1.2 million.

The Town of East Fremantle will also be introducing the FOGO bins, and so do other councils around Perth.

But to save cost and not collect near empty bins the Town of Vincent, which has also embraced FOGO, has decided it will introduce fortnightly collection instead of weekly ones, and I wonder if Fremantle Council might be contemplating the same and what Freo residents would think about that. Any thoughts?

Gratias Sunday Market East Freo

A new organic produce market will be on in the courtyard of the GRATIAS bakery in George Street in East Fremantle on Sunday from 8am till 12 noon, and on the following Sundays, so go and check it out.

Of course the Fremantle Growers Green Farmers Market is also on at Fremantle College on Lefroy Road in Beaconsfield, so plenty of time to visit both markets and have your pick of the best.

HOME SHOPPING AT ORGANIC COLLECTIVE

Organic Collective

I did a photo shoot for the new website of THE ORGANIC COLLECTIVE in Winterfold Road, Hilton last week and the people were such a delight to work with that I thought to give them a free plug on my blog. A bit of value adding for them. ; >)

It is a great little shop with plenty of free parking but one of the main features no doubt is that they do home deliveries all over the metro area.

Check out their Facebook page and drive by one day to check out all their products. Once the new website is on-line you can be lazy and do your shopping from home.
