Always smiling Ajay of the Lucky Elephant stall in the Fremantle Markets is very happy that the very popular markets will re-open in just eight days.

In the meantime Ajay is trading in the Henderson Street mall in front of the markets, so support him.

JACK STILLMAN IN MANNING ARCADE

JACK STILLMAN has opened in Freo’s Manning Arcade with a good looking shop selling “Gear Made to Last Longer” The target appears to be motorcyclists, but I noticed some great veg tanned leather and waxed canvas shoulder bags and T-shirts, etc.

Go check it out. It’s just before the Grumpy Sailor cafe.

Access is only from the High Street mall, but landscaping at the back in Paddy Troy Lane is well advanced so the southern entrance of the arcade should be open by mid next week as well.

SUPPORT OUR FREMANTLE TRADERS!

There are a lot of good stories about the Covid-19 crisis, with many Fremantle people saying that there is more kindness and consideration in the community, but some people are doing it really tough and are struggling, and that includes many small businesses.

Just imagine buying the High Street Dispensary cafe in the historic West End and a week after you have done so the social distancing restrictions are enforced. It’s just not fair!

Or the market stall holders at the Fremantle Markets not being able to trade, but the man in the photo has created a bazaar feeling by putting the clothes out in the Henderson Street mall, while he makes a lonely figure sitting on a chair placed on a rug.

The Korean BBQ at the markets in South Terrace has also opened for takeaway.

Support our small traders. They will be forever grateful!

At the Gorman fashion shop in Fremantle’s Market Street they use poetry to deal with the Covid-19 social distancing restrictions:

We’re in store

Knock on the door

Come inside, limit of four

Clever!

A T SHIRT SO I REMEMBER WHO I AM

When you get old you sometimes forget who you are, so that very nice man Stuart Endersby of Freo T Shirts in the Fremantle Markets decided to make sure I’ll remember that I take photos, and made a T shirt especially for me. ; >)

The technique Freo T Shirts uses is unique in WA as it not just prints text and images on T Shirts but ‘burns’ them into the fabric, so they are far more durable and don’t fade fast.

Check them out by entering the market from Henderson Street and go left.

Now where did I leave my pipe? Oh, I forgot. I don’t smoke.

NEW BUSINESSES FOR FREMANTLE CENTRE

Posted in backpackers, city of fremantle, clothes, fashion, hospitality, retail, tourism, Uncategorized by freoview on April 17, 2018

academy brand

A brand new clothing shop will open in Fremantle soon. The Academy Brand will be offering clean and classic men’s and boys clothing from their Market Street shop on the corner of the High Street mall.

The Academy Brand was established in 2007 with a boutique at Bondi Beach and now has several shops in New South Wales and also one in Brisbane.

The brand is very popular here in Australia and New Zealand, so gents go and check it out.

tavern

While walking down High Street I noticed men putting up the sign at the Orient Hotel for the retrospective change of use to tavern at the Fremantle Beach Backpackers upstairs.

I don’t know if that will mean the end of the hostel or if the tavern will be an addition for the backpackers and in competition with the Orient.
