FREO’S WEST END LAKES DISTRICT

 

 

The wet weather is leaving its marks in Fremantle. It is impossible to get through the Whalers Tunnel because of a deep puddle on the west end of it, while the foot and bicycle paths on either side of Arthur’s Head also have huge puddles.

There is a sink hole starting to develop on the corner of High and Little High Street next to Chalkys cafe and there is a lake in front of J Shed.

It’s not a good look for visitors to our city.

In that context, what is the progress with the stabilisation works required at Arthur’s Head, City of Fremantle?

WHALERS TUNNEL SIGNS ARE WRONG

 

 

The City of Fremantle need to amend these signs at the Bathers Beach end of the Whalers Tunnel at Arthur’s head because they are confusing.

The Whalers Tunnel is not closed but is open to the public, so why have signs there saying the opposite?

I noticed several people not going into the tunnel yesterday as they were not sure if they were trespassing and that is not good for tourism.

KEEP THE WHALERS TUNNEL GATES OPEN!

Tomorrow, Friday March 13-Black Friday!-SCULPTURE@BATHERS, Fremantle’s biggest art show starts at Bathers Beach. On Saturday the 14th the Captain’s Lane Fest will be on to promote the Bathers Beach Art Precinct. The City invested thousands of dollars to light up the Arthur Head cliff face, and BID invested to light up the heritage facades of High Street.

CAN SOMEBODY AT COF PLEASE TELL WILSON SECURITY THAT THE WHALERS TUNNEL GATES HAVE TO STAY OPEN TILL 10 PM AS A PERMANENT ARRANGEMENT, SO THAT PEOPLE CAN VIEW THE ARTWORKS, ENJOY THE FESTIVAL AND THE LIT-UP CLIFF FACE!!!! IT’S A TOURIST PRECINCT. DON’T CLOSE IT AT 7 PM!

It won’t be good enough to hear next week that someone stuffed up again.
