It is not easy when you are getting close to your death bed at the ripe old smelly age of seventy to commit yourself to exercise and getting the body just that little bit more fit, but that is just what I did this morning when I walked from Beacy to the Freo CBD and back.

It will probably take me a week to recover from this madness and that is probably why my nickname is Loopy. ; >).

I took these two photos of the colours of Freo while I wandered around and also the one in the blog post above this one about the paving trial at Kings Square.

The LOCAL Hotel in South Fremantle always generously hosts South Fremantle Precinct meetings and lately also the Politics in the Pub by the Fremantle Network, so they deserve our support.

If you haven’t got any family Christmas Eve commitment head out to The Local for some tunes by DJ Peggy Sue SMO and Santa’s Little Helper from 8pm.

STUNNING SAND SCULPTURE IN BEACY

There is always something special at ECOBURBIA on the corner of Livingstone and Beard streets in Fremantle’s Beaconsfield.

Shani Graham and Tim Darby are two of the most community-minded people in Freo, and Tim has excelled at becoming one of WA’s best sand sculptors.

Go and take the kids around to have a look at this beauty which Tim just created! This one is double as good because Tim had to build it twice when the first one collapsed.

Christmas tree

There are many issues Fremantle Council will have to consider before finalising its planned Age Friendly City policy. This might just be one of them. ; >)

My sister Marja, in the Netherlands, posted the image on Facebook.

Have a very Happy Christmas everyone!

BIG ST PATRICK’S CHRISTMAS LUNCH

More than 200 people enjoyed a three-course Christmas lunch in Princess May Park, organised by Fremantle’s St Patrick’s community care.

Fremantle Labor member Minister Simone McGurk was there, as were Cockburn Mayor Logan Howlett and Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt and his young daughter Aoife, who was a bit worried about Santa, played by former Freo Councillor Rob Fittock.

St Pat’s Michael Piu and Victor Crevatin were supported by many volunteers when they were serving ┬áthe Christmas roast.

It was a heart-warming event and nice to see so many smiling faces from those who are doing it tough.

BUY KEEP CUPS FOR CHRISTMAS

Posted in cafe, christmas, city of fremantle, coffee, environment, recycling, Uncategorized by freoview on December 10, 2018

coffee planet

There will be a lot of wastage over the Christmas period and most of it will end up in landfill, so do the right thing for planet earth and buy some keep cups as presents for your friends and family members.

Millions of non-recycable take-away containers are dumped each year and we all can make the very small effort of reducing our own waste by reducing the use of take-away coffee cups.

At Chalkys cafe in Fremantle West End you’ll even get a free coffee when you buy a keep cup! It’s the last cafe in High Street, close to the historic Roundhouse.
