MARKET AND MUSIC FREO SUNDAY FUN

gg-11

It is sooooo much nicer to go food shopping at the Fremantle Growers Green Farmers Market than going to a sterile shopping centre, and the last one of the year is on this Sunday December 23 from 8am till midday.

So get on your airconditioned bikes or in your hot cars and head to Fremantle College on Lefroy Road for all that fresh produce and yummy breakfast offers.

And from 2-4pm sit in the shade of the plane trees in the courtyard of the Fremantle Arts Centre for the free concert by The Last Fair Deal with powerhouse lead singer Ofa Fotu and listen to the great blues and soul.

It was a rather cool and cloudy early Sunday morning in Freo, but the sun is coming through right now at 9am, so get out and about and enjoy our beautiful city!

The Growers Green Farmers Market at Fremantle College on Lefroy Road is already underway and open till midday.

The FOMO Colour event by Sirona Capital at Fremantle Oval runs from 10am to 2pm and the hundreds of easels will create one very large canvas. Will it be a Guinness Book of Records entry?

The idea is for anyone-young and old- to come to the oval and paint an image, supported by local artists Anya Brock and Dave Spencer. It is a free event with entertainment and food stalls, so support it!

And from 2-4pm Emily Baker will be singing at the free courtyard music session in the Fremantle Arts Centre, where Animaze is also on with amazing animals for kids and lots to do.

BIG GROWERS GREEN MARKETS TOMORROW

Posted in city of fremantle, community, food, growers green markets, Uncategorized by freoview on October 6, 2018

It is the first Sunday of the month tomorrow and that means that there will be a BIG Growers Green Farmers Market at Fremantle College in Beaconsfield.

I love the new location east of the new buildings as there are so many trees, so heaps of shade to sit under and enjoy a great breakfast with friends and family, while contemplating what to shop for.

There are lots of organic fruits and vegatbles, breads and pastries, eggs, etc. and of course there will be live music, face painting and Farner Damian’s animal touch farm.

The markets are open from 8am till midday at Lefroy Road.

The forecast for today is 24 degrees and sunny so get out and about and (re)discover beautiful Fremantle.

Start at the Growers Green Farmers Markets at Fremantle College in Beaconsfield, open from 8am till midday.

Then have coffee at one of our delightful cafes, before checking out Open Day at Notre Dame University in the historic West End.

While there you can re-acquaint yourself with the Felice Varine yellow artwork along High Street, as a lot of people did yesterday.

And then it’s just about time for lunch or an afternoon drink at our inner city Bathers Beach,¬†or at 1pm watch the firing of the cannon behind the Roundhouse, and visit the amazing Glen Cowans underwater photography gallery next to the old jail.

Freo is never boring!
