KNUTSFORD URBAN DESIGN STRATEGY ON AGENDA
The Knutsford Urban Design Strategy, which is on the agenda of the Strategic Planning and Transport Committee of Fremantle Council on Wednesday, will no doubt attract a lot of input from the arts community in the semi industrial area that is earmarked for development.
The officers mention that walkability is an essential element of the plans, as well as respecting the original landscape, planting many more trees, flexibility when designing open spaces, disorganised parking on verges which affects cyclists and pedestrians, and connecting a path network in the precinct.
Community centres in the area, such as the Fibonacci Centre, are unique and need to have breathing space around them to be able to continue and that will be one of the many challenges for the development plans of the precinct.

It’s the first Sunday of the month, so the Fremantle Growers Green Farmers Markets will be extra big with the addition of art and craft stalls today.
The Growers Green is loved for its family and dog friendly community ambience where friends catch up for a chat over nice breakfast and good coffee while browsing for fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, breads, pastries, cakes, etc.
There is live music, face painting and more. It’s the perfect and relaxed way to start a Sunday morning.

MANY REASONS TO CELEBRATE
Fremantle retail incubator MANY 2.0 is celebrating its first anniversary in the new location in the former Spotlight building in Adelaide Street this Saturday with a party from 5-8pm.
MANY had to move out of the former MYER building at Kings Square last year to make way for the redevelopment there.
Go check out all the lovely shops and the cafe and support our local small businesses.

VISIT THE FREO CHRISTMAS MARKET
There is not a lot going on in Fremantle during the festive season, so not much to write about.
A reminder that the Christmas Market at the Moore&Moore cafe is still on today and tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm.
There is a children’s playground in the courtyard and they serve good food and coffee, and Henry Street has been re-opened to traffic after the inappropriate closure a few days ago for work that was done on one of the footpaths.

A reminder that the Fremantle Arts Centre Christmas Bazaar will be on this weekend.
It starts tomorrow from 5-10 pm and then Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
Local art and craft, jewellery, clothes, ceramics, glass, etc. for sale, so great Christmas presents to be found there.
On Sunday is also the George Street Festival in East Fremantle, just down the road from the FAC, so easy to combine the two events.
