ROEL FOR FREO! Beaconsfield Ward. Truly Independent.
Fremantle artist Steve Makse is doing his own fundraising to help a friend in Nepal, so support him please. Here the message he sent me:
“Thinking of an old friend, Harka, a Nepali guide I met while trekking in Nepal. He and his family are alive after the earthquakes but their village is reduced to rubble.
The painting depicts a river valley, somewhere along the Annapurna Circuit, a well worn route through the Himalayas. If anyone out there would like to buy this painting the money will be sent to Harka and his family. The painting is $450 ; oil on canvas; 455mm x 510mm – free pickup or viewing from my studio in MANY6160 at Kings Square, Fremantle.
Well done to all the hardworking and passionately committed people in the Fremantle community who organised the RESTORING NEPAL CONCERT and other events. I was just told that close to $ 30,000 was raised for the earthquake victims in Nepal.
So a very, very big THANK YOU! to the musicians from Empire Blues, Mutima Band and the Nervous investors, and to those who donated items for the raffle, and the Fremantle Sailing Club for supplying the venue.
It gives one a real warm and fuzzy feeling to see that people do care, even about countries and people they have never met. Well done all and thank you so much!
A large crowd game to the RESTORING NEPAL concert at the beautiful Fremantle Sailing Club on Saturday, raising funds for the earthquake victims in Nepal.

It was a splendid evening and the organisors have to be thanked for their compassion and the hard work they did. Well done all who donated time and auction items. The Fremantle community showed yet again that we care. Well done all!!!!!!

There was a good atmosphere in the Fremantle Notre Dame university Drillhall last evening with many people browsing through a large number of clothes brought in for the CLOTHES SWAP FOR NEPAL fundraiser organised by Acacia Armstrong.
I don’t know how many people attended and how much money was raised but there was also a silent auction of bicycles generously donated. There will be a few more of them at the Concert for Nepal on June 13, so book your tickets!
Come and join the CLOTHES SWAP FOR NEPAL at the Drillhall of the Fremantle Notre Dame University TODAY FROM 4-8 PM!
Sell clothes, buy clothes, get yourself a whole new wardrobe with great designer labels, or just stock up for the fancy dress parties you are going to be part of. It will be fun with music and funds raised will go to support the earthquake victims and Gyuto monks in Nepal.
