What a stunning day in Freo paradise it is!

I went to the Freo Farmers Market, that is now at Bruce Lee oval, because the Covid-19 health concerns forced it to move away from Fremantle College.

Farmers markets that were on school grounds all over Perth have been closed, so we are very lucky that Fremantle Council was flexible and allowed the popular market to move to the oval.

The FFM is open every Sunday of the year from 8am till noon, so go and support those traders who get up very early to offer us fresh produce.

I really love the Freo Farmers Market that is on every Sunday morning at Fremantle College. It is such a very Freo event and so delightful under all the mature trees.

Go and check it out next Sunday!

MARKET UNDER TREES AND PAPAYA TREE IN FREO

dsc_0010-1

It’s the long WA Labour Day weekend, so no reason not to be out and about in Fremantle on Sunday, as most of us won’t have to turn up for work on Monday or get the kids to school early.

Autumn has started and it was pleasantly cool this morning, so why not head out between 8am and noon to the fantastic Growers Green Farmers Market at Fremantle College on Lefroy Road in Beaconsfield.

It is the first Sunday of the month, so that means it is a big market with additional art&craft stalls, etc.

There is plenty of fresh produce, breads, pastries, eggs, organic and vegan food and of course yummy, coffee, breakfast and lunch on the menu.

Papaya Tree

From 2-4pm NSW youngsters Papaya Tree will be performing their mix of reggae, funk, rock and jazz in the Fremantle Arts Centre courtyard. It is a FREE concert!

The cafe, pizza bar and bar will be open and there are some great new exhibitions as well.

SPUDSHED FOR SPEARWOOD

Posted in city of fremantle, food, Uncategorized by freoview on February 13, 2019

Good news for those Fremantle people who have made long journeys to shop at Spudshed.

Tony Galati is returning to his roots and is opening a new Spudshed in the former IGA supermarket premises on Rockingham Road, very close to South Fremantle.

The 2000 square metre shop will open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I am not sure what the opening date is,  but Galati promises it to be before Easter, so keep an eye on it!

AMAZING RECORD FOR FREMANTLE MARKETS

Posted in city of fremantle, food, fremantle markets, Uncategorized by freoview on February 3, 2018

The Fremantle Markets is one of the top attractions in our city, for locals and interstate and overseas visitors.

Last year the markets, which has 150 stalls, had a record year and welcomed 2,64 million people. That is amazing!

There is no doubt that the Fremantle Markets have improved a lot, especially the food section that has specialty stalls we should have elsewhere in Freo as well. The variety and quality is great.

The heritage listed Fremantle Markets opened in 1897, so 120 years ago and remains a favourite destination on weekends.

VISIT GROWERS GREEN MARKETS THIS SUNDAY

GG 6

An early reminder that the lovely Fremantle GROWERS GREEN FARMERS MARKETS, have relocated back to their old spot at Lefroy Road at Fremantle College.

The market has been a great meeting place for locals and beyond and is the perfect place to buy fresh produce, bread, and lots of other yummy things, as well as delicious breakfast and coffee.

There is live music, the animal touch farm from Farmer Damian, face painting.

It’s lovely to sit on a rug under the trees and engage with your local community.

Open every Sunday from 8 am till midday.
