For the second year in a row I was invited to be one of the judges of the WIKI LOVES EARTH 2017 Australian section.

1,500 entries were received from all over the nation. The judges had to select the ten best photos that will be entered into the international competition from countries from all over the planet.

The international winner will receive a trip to Cape Town.

The Australian winner we selected was this stunning photo by Katarina Christenson of a juvenile white necked heron in the Darling River.

I am certain that Crow Bar is not a very good name for a pizza bar, but it seems appropriate for this photo taken at the Fremantle Arts Centre this morning.

FREO’S BEARDED BLINCO BIRD

I am a bit over having to write so many negative blogs about Fremantle things, so this bearded bird will have to lift the mood a bit.

I had good coffee and an excellent sausage roll at the Blinco Street Cafe in the Fibonacci Centre today with my mate Michael when he noticed this black bird with a white beard. It looks cute hey.

If you are in the White Gum Valley area go and visit the Blinco. It’s a lovely little cafe, just off Amherst Street, run by my young friend Stephanie, so support her!
