The Fremantle Christmas lights along the Cappuccino Strip have been switched on and look lovely, especially with all the fairly lights on the Sail&Anchor balcony.
It is disappointing though that they have not been increased along Market and High Streets, as was flagged last year.
There will be Christmas Carols at Walyalup Koort and movies for the family, but disappointingly no projections on the Townhall this year.
Fremantle Prison will again have the fantastic projections from the first weekend in December.

HAVE A VERY HAPPY FREO BEACH CHRISTMAS
The City of Fremantle is changing the very popular Christmas Carols from the Fremantle Arts Centre to South Beach to accommodate more people, since the event has outgrown the FAC and the City does not want to turn down people. The FAC has limited capacity due to liquor licensing rules.
The Carols will now be held on Sunday December 18 from 7pm, so that allows for time to have a swim and enjoy a great sunset during the Carols. Libby Hammer and the Arcadian Voices will be there of course!
The traditional switching on by the Mayor of the beautiful Christmas tree lights at Kings Square will also be on the agenda, and the summer in Freo will be full of festivals and events, including the free Sunday courtyard concerts at the arts centre from late October.

CHRISTMAS SHOW IN NORTH FREMANTLE
The annual Christmas Show and Carol singing is on again this Sunday from 6.30 pm at the North Fremantle Bowling Club, so hop on the bike or train, or wander over to North Freo before those greedy Mossie Parks people get their hands on the jewel in the crown.
North Freo might well become Mosman Park South if all goes wrong.

CHRISTMAS SOUL AT FREMANTLE ARTS CENTRE
Many people will be doing their last Christmas shopping today while the ones who are better organised have avoided the Christmas rush and can go out and enjoy themselves. The FREMANTLE ARTS CENTRE has got two music events on today, so why not go and relax there. It starts at 2 pm with the free summer courtyard music with Odette Mercy and Her Soul Atomic entertaining us with classic soul and funk. The Canvas cafe will be open and so will be the bar and the pizza bar.
At 7 pm the CANDLELIGHT CAROLS will be on for young and old with the Libby Hammer Quintet, Arcadian Voices Choir and Bellswest. Doors open at 6 and there will be food available and the bar open. Gold coin donation.

FREMANTLE’S STUNNING CHRISTMAS TREE
The things that take me away from a bad mood and crappy days are taking photos, sit at the ocean, or enjoy the great Australian bush, so today it was happy snapper time for a very disappointed Loopy.
The Christmas tree at Fremantle Kings Square was lit by Mayor Brad Pettit and there were carols, Santa and the invigorating WASAMA drummers all lit up and that made for interesting movement photos.
Go and check out the lights and also wander down High Street to see them all along there, and walk trough the Whalers Tunnel to see the lit up historic Arthur Head. The kids will tell you you are the best mum and dad in the world!

CHRISTMAS COMES TO FREO THIS FRIDAY
Today in a month is Christmas Day, so the time for celebrations and carols has begun. This Friday November 28 the City of Fremantle will light the Christmas tree on Kings Square with an event that features Santa, the High Voltage Carollers, St John’s Church Choir, Acapella West Choir, and WASAMBA. There will also be a market with food and art and craft stalls, so bring the family.
It starts at 6.30 and the lights will be switched on around 7.20. The tree looks amazing, so if you have not seen it, it’s worth the trip!
