Posted in city of fremantle, food, Uncategorized by freoview on November 6, 2017

The Food trucks are under the Fremantle Bridge at the East Street jetty today from 5 pm.

It’s a perfect day to sit at the Swan river, watch the sun set over the port and eat some delicious food.

Under the Bridge Food. 16 Oct

Let’s hope the weather will be more accommodating for the first of the summer season UNDER THE BRIDGE FOODTRUCKS at the Fremantle East Street Jetty today.

They had to cancel last week because of the storm, so check it out from 5pm today.

It’s a nice location to watch the sun set behind the port and five food trucks will offer a variety of food.

SUMMER IS COMING!

summer

I like it hot, so can’t wait for summer, and the season of markets, festivals and events to start in Fremantle.

Took this photo on my way to the Council meeting late yesterday afternoon at the Cappuccino Strip near the very cosy Benny’s bar and cafe.

A VERY WET FREMANTLE SUMMER

Posted in fremantle, rain, summer, weather by freoview on February 11, 2017

wet-one

This has been the strangest summer in Fremantle I have experienced. Wet, cold and only a couple of days near 40 degrees so far.

More heavy rain last night woke me up and there is more to come. The Manning Park Market this morning has been cancelled and it does not look too good for outdoor concerts and markets over the weekend, so make sure to check out if they are going ahead before you leave home.

The most disappointing thing for me is that most of all that beautiful rain in a city environment is wasted and runs down into the ocean because of the lack of rainwater catchment. I so wished the government would make it compulsory to install rainwater tanks at every new building because it would help the depletion of our dams.

I took this photo at 5 pm in High Street near the Roundhouse yesterday. Rain on the car windscreen created the mood.

COLD MORNING AT FREO RAINBOW

If you thought it was cold this morning for a summer’s day when you woke up you are not wrong. I should have put on a jacket when I went out at 6 am to take photos of the Fremantle Rainbow sculpture.

According to BOM the Perth/Fremantle region had last year the coolest 12 months in a decade and the coldest winter in over 20 years, so stay warm and hug a loved one, or a stranger if you are brave enough. :>)

Alternatively get a nice coffee or tea in one of the many great Freo cafes! I just did at the Moore&Moore cafe where I was served by the lovely Persephone and Hannah.

THE COAST IS FINE

Posted in beaches, food, fremantle, hospitality by freoview on October 19, 2016

The new COAST restaurant at Fremantle’s Port Beach looks very impressive and will officially open in a few weeks, but I noticed the cafe was already serving coffee this morning, so check it out.

It looks like the building is done in three parts, one more upmarket for fine dining, a bar, and a beach-style family venue at the western end of it.

It feels a whole lot better than the outlet that was there before, but I could not see any alfresco.

fac-relax

It’s warming up at the start of this week, so get the shorts and minis ready for a couple of days. The beaches and alfresco cafes will be inviting and the Fremantle Arts Centre is a lovely colourful and historic spot to relax at, and it has free wifi!

The great Fremantle Print Award exhibition is still on, so go and spend an hour or long lunch at the FAC!

SEGWAY FUN IN FREMANTLE

Posted in fremantle, tourism, western australia by freoview on September 22, 2016

s-1

SEGWAY Fremantle was launched this morning by Deputy and Acting Fremantle Mayor Dave Coggin who warmly welcomed the new tourist attraction and said that diversification was the way to go for Freo.

SEGWAY has been operating tours in Perth and on Rottnest Island since 2013 and will be doing four tours a day in Fremantle.. They will be doing Pioneer Explorer tours at 10 am and 1.30 pm. They go for one hour.

They will also do Absolute Freo tours all the way up to Monument Hill starting at 11.30 am and 3 pm, and they will go for an hour and a half.

Children must be over 12-years old and approximately 45 kg.

Tour prices are from $ 79.00 and can be booked on www. segwaytourswa.com.au or call 1300 80 81 80

It is a shame they are not allowed to ride to the Maritime Museum and along Victoria Quay but Fremantle Ports has not been as accommodating as the City of Fremantle.

It is fantastic to see another tourist attraction in Freo and we need a few more, so that visitors linger longer in our city.

Interstate tourism to WA has increased by 17.9 per cent over the last year and international tourist figures have gone up by 6.3 per cent, with an increase of Malaysian tourists by 18.6 per cent and from Singapore up by 15.8 per cent.

Welcom
