Posted in city of fremantle, traffic, Uncategorized by freoview on September 14, 2019

Good news for Fremantle traders and motorists!

Construction work for the Water Corporation Pipes for Fremantle project on Market Street and South Terrace is ahead of schedule. It was originally due for completion Friday 27 September but will now be ready this Saturday the 21st.

Next week, the current fencing will be replaced with shorter fencing in preparation for asphalting the road. The team aims to have all reinstatement work completed and the northbound traffic lane reopened by COB, Saturday 21 September.

This work will continue between 7am to 7pm. The northbound traffic lane remains closed between High Street and Essex Street during this time.

Construction work on Pakenham Street will start Monday 23 September and will continue for about four weeks.

Further information about this work including traffic management, will be provided by Watercorp soon.

Fremantle’s South Terrace, better known as the Cappuccino Strip, is closed this week for traffic going north due to the Pipes for Fremantle work by the Water Corporation.

This also affects the bus service in that direction.

Pipes

Just a warning that there are minor traffic delays along the Fremantle Cappuccino Strip because of the Pipes for Fremantle maintenance work by Water Corp.

The Cappuccino Strip is only one lane traffic regulated by traffic management people.

FREO WET WEATHER CONTINUES

That’s enough rain for me for a while! I want sunshine and a bit of warmth in Fremantle and not the wet cold weather we have been having for a bit too long for my taste.

I spent the day up at Arthur’s Head and there were a few nice rainbows but none so spectacular that I wanted to photograph them, so here a shot of the Cappuccino Strip on my way to the West End and the huge puddle reflection at the Whalers Tunnel.

BEERPOURIUM FOR FREO’S CAPPUCCINO STRIP

Posted in bar, beer, city of fremantle, hospitality, Uncategorized by freoview on February 9, 2019

beerpourium

Something is finally happening at the former KULCHA on the Fremantle Cappuccino Strip.

I noticed the banner for the BEERPOURIUM (silly name!) and checked them out on Facebook.

It is going to be a small bar specialising in craft beer with woodfired food on offer, so a bit different from the application with the City that promised a restaurant and music venue.

There is no opening date yet, but it says it will be the summer of 2019, so that should be soon. They only received their liquor license for a small bar recently.

Good luck and may it become a lovely relaxing venue to have a quiet beer with friends!

kulcha

There is an application for a liquor license on the former Kulcha building on Fremantle’s Cappuccino Strip, so it looks like the new lessees will soon start with their restaurant and live music venue above the Dome cafe in the gorgeous building.

The  new Fremantle Cappuccino Strip carpark on the former Stan Reilly site is near completion with solar lighting now also installed.

It will be good that it opens as the Queensgate carpark will close after the long Easter weekend to accommodate the Kings Square Redevelopment Project.

The new Cappuccino Strip carpark on the former Stan Reilly site near Fremantle Hospital and Fremantle Oval is scheduled to open early April.

Bitumen made of recycled road milling is being put down at present. It will capture rain water run off that will be used to water the water-wise plants.

There will be 156 car bays which will be lit at night by solar lighting, and there are also electric car charging bays.
