BIG BAD WOLF DESTROYS FREMANTLE GRAFFITI

Posted in fremantle by freoview on May 9, 2013

This quirky graffiti street art mural at Fremantle‘s Stevens Reserve at Swanbourne Street is why I like graffiti art. It makes a political statement about local councils removing graffiti when on many occasions council should be more considerate and appraise graffiti on their merit. The City of Fremantle of course now has a graffiti policy where unauthorised graffiti will be assessed and if deemed art it will be allowed to remain if the building owners approve.

The Big Bad Wolf and Little Red artwork is cute because it makes the point that she wants to be creative while nasty bureaucrats want to destroy her art. I like it and hope it will remain a feature at the sports oval.

This is no yawn! It’s (great) public art. Thank goodness Brad Pettitt has the foresight to protect it.

BRILLIANT!!…much more pleasing to the eye (p’haps even thought inspiring – to the capable!) than a miss-spelt “tag”/eyesore that often lacks artistic ability &/or creativity in general….Even the font “Little Red” signs off with is legible!! ….THANK-YOU Little Red! WELL DONE!

Derivitive of Banksy, without the wit.

Typical theme of the artist as victim.

    Yawn.
