FREMANTLE ARTS CENTRE SUNDAY MUSIC

Posted in Uncategorized by freoview on October 15, 2023

The fantastic and free Fremantle Arts Centre music sessions in the lovely front courtyard are very popular and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends or family, and to connect with the Freo community.

This Sunday, October 15 Jocelyn’s Baby and Dolce Blue will be entertaining the crowd, so come along, bring a picnic, or buy a pizza from the pizza stand. The bar will be open, or BYO.

Jocelyn’s Baby is the name of the eclectic, ever-changing outfit led by Boorloo-based musician and theatre maker Jess Nyanda Moyle. After releasing their first folk EP ‘Foetus & Fossil’ the solo act evolved into a 4-piece rock iteration. The band give the guts and grit necessary to tell the stories behind Jess’ song writing; humorous, sometimes shattering stories about identity, addiction, existentialism and the potential for healing.

From the Kalamunda hills hails alt-pop outfit Dolce Blue, a band who have created their own brand of indie-pop that is sweet (Dolce) with a hint of melancholia (Blue). The four-piece are primary school friends and have undeniable chemistry bound from years of friendship. The group have a knack for crafting ear-worm melodies with meaningful lyrics, winning over anyone who loves a catchy melody, an honest story, or shreddin’ guitar lick.
