HEALTH FOOD DELIGHT AT WEST END DISPENSARY CAFE

Posted in cafe, fremantle, hospitality, western australia by freoview on May 8, 2016

There is a new cafe in the great West End of Fremantle. The High Street Dispensary will open this Monday and offers all the good and healthy stuff that carnivores like I should be eating. RAW, Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free is on the menu of this new venture by the delightful owners of Chalkys Cafe, just down the road.

Shaun and Sarah are opening the new cafe next door to the new chemist in High Street in a heritage building, a few doors down from the Orient Hotel, so give it a try soon.

The interior is lovely and understated with thick marine ply and recycled bricks andĀ planter boxes all over the place.

LIVESTOCK PROTEST SPANS FREMANTLE BRIDGE

Posted in fremantle, LIVESTOCK by freoview on November 30, 2014

An estimated 850 animal lovers took over the full length of the Fremantle traffic bridge this morning to protest against livestock trade from Fremantle port.

The peaceful protest did not interrupt the usual busy Sunday traffic.

KULCHA’S VEGETARIAN MUSICAL PARADISE

Posted in art, fremantle by freoview on August 2, 2013

We all know we don’t only enjoy food by eating it but also with our eyes. The delightfully creative people at Fremantle’s KULCHA have come up with the whole new concept of eating with your ears by introducing SUNDAY SOUND KITCHEN, a combination of great music and yummy food on Sunday afternoon.

It starts this Sunday August 4 and will go from 3-9 pm. It will cost $ 10.00 and that includes hot and freshly made Manna-style vegetarian tangine and couscous with your music. It’s a bit like a vegetarian musical paradise I reckon. Go check it out!

A WAY WITH WORDS

Posted in fremantle by freoview on January 18, 2012

PeopleĀ all over the world have a way with words. When you think you’ve seen it all, reality comes knocking on your door. My sister Marja sent me this photo from the city of The Hague in the Netherlands, where I was born. The sign reads The Vegetarian Butcher.

Only yesterday I read somewhere that in Austria a company that needed a window cleaner advertised for a Vision Enhancement Officer. Let’s hope that pays more.

If we are starting to use spindoctor language at grass root levels we’ve really lost the plot.
