There has been speculation in the Fremantle community if the swans on the Townhall would be black or white after the extensive conservation work, but they are neither.
The swans were originally not painted at all, like the rest of the Townhall clocktower, and were only painted black in the 1960s.
The stunning Freo Townhall will be 130 years old on June 22 this year. It was opened on that day in 1887.
Spring is in the air with many wildflowers popping up and the sun is finally out as well.
I shot this photo of the swan family at Bibra Lake this morning.
It’s a great time of the year for a walk and to discover some of nature’s beauty. Manning Park just down the road from Fremantle is looking great as well with fantastic views from the lookouts.
The stillness of sunrise is something most people miss out on, especially in summer when it happens just after 5 am. It is well worth getting up for though and even the joggers were taking photos at Point Walter this morning.
I needed a bit of a break from politics, amalgamation mess and Fremantle not doubling in size, so had a very early start of the day after a sleepless night.
