St Pats Clancys

It is going to be a rather cool 23C degrees today so enjoy your St Patrick’s Day, Fremantle.

The pubs got specials on and Clancy’s have a big music program from midday till late.

Guinness is a great drink as long as it is consumed in moderation, so keep that in mind and don’t drink and drive please.

St Pats Clancys

I am sure many in Fremantle are just waiting for St Patrick’s Day, so here a couple of pubs that got something special on this Saturday.

It’s the day that starts off with people wearing green but at the end of the day many of them will look pretty green as well. Oh yes that delicious good old Guinness!

Lots of music at Clancy’s and specials at The Federal, so enjoy the day. The forecast its for Irish weather. Rain.

ST PATRICK’S DAY BOWLING FUNDRAISER

Posted in city of fremantle, st patricks day by freoview on March 15, 2016

Fremantle St. Patrick’s very first fundraiser of the year is on St Patrick’s Day tomorrow and going to be fun!

Lawn bowls, delicious food, an acoustic set of Irish music from members of The Fling. You don’t even have to know the difference between bowls, balls or anything else that is round, because most Irish people don’t know the difference either, and even less after a pint of six of Guinness. ; >)

And all funds raised go directly to helping some of the least advantaged people in Freo.
Thursday, March 17th
4-7pm
Fremantle Bowling Club, Ellen Street, Fremantle.
Tickets are $35 or get a team of five together for $150
Book your tickets here:

EARLY ST PATS AT FREO WORKERS CLUB

Posted in fremantle by freoview on March 13, 2014

Tell your wife it’s all about saving money when you argue if you should go out on Friday night. A pint of Guinness for only $ 7.00 and an Irish music concert by Sean Roche for only $ 15.00 (members $ 10,00) is such a bargain that one cannot stay at home.

It’s all happening at the FREMANTLE WORKERS CLUB in Henry Street at 7.30 this Friday, and is a bit of an early St Patrick’s Day celebration.

The cafe will be open from 5.30 for a good and cheap meal, so go join the fun, and bring the wife!

BIG WEEKEND FOR FREMANTLE

Posted in fremantle by freoview on March 15, 2013

We have a big weekend ahead of us in Fremantle, with plenty of things happening. On Saturday the Sculpture@Bathers and the Bathers Beach Sunset Food Markets should set the West End of the city alive, while on Sunday there is the Indian Food and Culture Festival on the Esplanade, the Music to open your Minds mental health awareness event at Kings Square and it’s St Patrick’s Day with music in Princess May Park at Clancy’s.

So walk, ride, train or bus it into good old Freo for an exciting weekend!

EVENTS THAT MAKE FREO AND AUSTRALIA SPECIAL

Posted in australia, fremantle by freoview on September 29, 2012

Today is a special day in Australia. It’s AFL Grand Final day. Although I am not a fanatical football or sports fan I always watch the AFL final, as I do the Melbourne Cup horse race and the Boxing Day cricket test match. They are historic and significant days for me where we celebrate Australia.

It made me think of the stand out days in Fremantle for me and I can’t get passed the Blessing of the Fleet as one of my favourites. I used to love St Patricks Day when there was still a parade through Freo, but now it’s only drinking in the pub stuff that does not inspire me much at all.

On the heels of these two events come the Fremantle Festival Parade, The Hulbert Street Sustainability Fiesta, the Easter weekend Street Art Festival and the Wardarnji Aboriginal Festival. All great events that make Freo special, and so is Australia Day and the fireworks over Bathers Beach.

I am also a huge fan of the free Sunday concerts at the Fremantle Art Centre and of the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra Christmas Proms there, as I am of the Indian Food Festival on the Esplanade.

To paraphrase Freo councillor Rachel Pemberton, if you are bored in Freo it means you are not getting out much. Come join the fun, meet new people, be part of your community!

Tomorrow at 10 am is the start of the Gentlemen’s Vintage Bicycle Ride at the Fremantle Art Centre!
