It was very busy with cyclists on the Fremantle South Mole this Saturday morning at 6am when around one hundred bike riders came to farewell the 25 mad ones who started a race to Sydney via Melbourne.

Good luck and have a safe ride, and all come home in one piece!

sunset

The Fremantle Annual General Electors Meeting was over in under an hour this evening, so just enough time to capture the lovely sunset from the South Mole of Fremantle port.

CRASHED CAR PULLED OUT OF OCEAN AT SOUTH MOLE

I was on the North Mole this morning when I noticed the large crane on the South Mole, so it had to be there to put the Mitsubish Magna out of the Indian Ocean that crashed last night and left one person dead.

Unfortunately I did not have a long lens with me so the quality of the two photos is not great as I had to crop them considerably.

ONE DEAD AFTER CAR DRIVES OFF FREMANTLE’S SOUTH MOLE

Posted in accidents, city of fremantle, fremantle ports, Uncategorized by freoview on January 29, 2019

The body of a 75 year-old woman was recovered late yesterday off the Fremantle South Mole after the Mitsubishi Magna she and her husband were in drove off the South Mole. The 81 year-old husband managed to swim to safety.

The tragic accident happened around 7pm yesterday, and one has to wonder how, as the road on the mole is surrounded by large rocks.

Access to the South Mole was closed early this morning as the police are investigating and asking any witnesses who saw the car before the accident to come forward.

LUCKY TO LIVE IN FREMANTLE

I love early mornings in Fremantle because it always makes me realise how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place.

To head out onto the South Mole and see the always great Indian Ocean and the stunning sunrises is something very special for me.

….and I love every other hour of the day living in good old Freo as well!

Here two photos I took just before 7am this morning.

That was a stunning sky over Fremantle most of today, so I went out late afternoon to take some photos from Monument Hill and the South Mole.

FUNNY FREO SIGN

My good mate Bob made me aware of this sign on the Fremantle South Mole.

Not sure what the message is but it looks good.

FREO SOUTH MOLE PARKING PROBLEMS

parking 2

Fremantle’s perceived parking problems took on a whole new meaning when the driver of this car ‘parked’ his/her vehicle rather awkwardly on the South Mole on Sunday night.

I am a day late reporting this, as yesterday was so hectic that I did not have the time to follow my daily routine of checking out what goes on in port.

Very remiss of me, so please don’t cancel your subscriptions and multi-million dollar advertising campaigns. ; >)
