It is not easy when you are getting close to your death bed at the ripe old smelly age of seventy to commit yourself to exercise and getting the body just that little bit more fit, but that is just what I did this morning when I walked from Beacy to the Freo CBD and back.

It will probably take me a week to recover from this madness and that is probably why my nickname is Loopy. ; >).

I took these two photos of the colours of Freo while I wandered around and also the one in the blog post above this one about the paving trial at Kings Square.

FREO NOTRE DAME GOT STARS IN THEIR EYES

Posted in abc, city of fremantle, education, notre dame university, sky, Uncategorized by freoview on May 24, 2018

The world record attempt to have the most people looking at stars at the same time across Australia was held last night and 69 Fremantle Notre Dame University students and staff and the Fremantle community took part in the event from the lawn next to the Roundhouse.

The world record attempt was initiated by the ABC and by ANU, Canberra. NDA was the only WA university participating in the event.

I had to attend the council meeting, so I am grateful for the photos sent by Leigh Dawson and Dylan Korczynskyj of NDA. Thanks Leigh and Dylan!

UPDATE! I heard on ABC TV this eve that it was a Guinness Book WORLD RECORD!

CLOUDS AT MONUMENT HILL

Monument Hill clouds

There are some beautiful white clouds over Fremantle, but the sun is coming through and we should have a fine Sunday.

I took this photo around 9.40 this morning at Monument Hill.

WALKING THE DOG AT MONUMENT HILL

walking the dog

Only two more sleeps until the ANZAC Day dawn ceremony at Fremantle Monument Hill, but when I noticed these photogenic clouds late this afternoon I had to find a nice spot to photograph them from.

The monument silhouetted against the sky would have done, but the couple walking their dog added a bit to the overall magic of the moment.

WINTER IS ALMOST OVER

The days are getting longer, the sun is shining and the Fremantle Winter Garden Festival is over. There were a lot of people there on the last day of the event with a long queue for the huge slide.

Above all the music, the smiling, and some crying, children, a plane let vapour trails in the stunning blue sky.

Bathers Beach was busy and so was central Fremantle and the Roundhouse, so good olf Freo still is an attraction for young and old on weekends.

SUNRISE AT POINT WALTER

Posted in fremantle, photography by freoview on February 18, 2015

The stillness of sunrise is something most people miss out on, especially in summer when it happens just after 5 am. It is well worth getting up for though and even the joggers were taking photos at Point Walter this morning.

I needed a bit of a break from politics, amalgamation mess and Fremantle not doubling in size, so had a very early start of the day after a sleepless night.

I need some colour in my life during this sleepless night in Fremantle’s valley, so enjoy the selection of photos.

SIMPLE BEAUTY OF LIFE

Nature in its simplicity can be so utterly beautiful. I noticed these gorgeous little clouds when walking to Chalkys in Fremantle’s west end for my morning coffee.
