light-repairs

While at the Fremantle Rainbow artwork this early evening I spotted a cherry picker going up to do some light repairs on Canning Highway and took this moody photo with port cranes in the background.

Great facade of a building in Henry Street, Fremantle. How easy it is to fall in love with Freo!

PAINTERLY RAIN PHOTOS OF VICTORIA QUAY

I had to get up early to let a family function into the Roundhouse at 6.45 this morning, and as I am never late I was far too early and already at Victoria Quay at 6 am, just when a heavy shower came through.

These impressionist and painterly photos were created by the rain water on the windscreen of my car.

Taking photos of reflections of heritage buildings in Fremantle is one of my art hobbies, so when I took UK visitor Simon on a photo tour through the West End of town yesterday afternoon I also took a couple of arty shots myself.

FREO’S STUNNING MARITIME MUSEUM

maritime-museum

I love this angle of the Maritime Museum along the historic B Shed and A Shed buildings at¬†Fremantle’s Victoria Quay in Fremantle Port and could not resist to take a photo of it again yesterday late afternoon on my way to the Council meeting.

Fremantle is in desperate need of some outstanding iconic modern buildings instead of the mediocre offensive rubbish architects and developers propose for our city.

FREMANTLE PORT MINIMALISM

I love industrial, mining and architectural photography, and am much better at taking photos of man-made things than of nature. It is probably because there is a sense of order that suits my liking of minimalism.

Sadly my times as a commercial photographer seem to have come to an end as I am out of the loop and very bad at promoting myself, so I am keeping my eye in by taking photos every day of things I discover while enjoying the great city of Fremantle and surrounds.

I took this photo at Rous Head at Fremantle Ports this morning.

FREEZING FREMANTLE FISHING

gone-fishing

The anglers were freezing their butts off this morning on the Fremantle north mole and the fish were not biting, but the port cranes in the background made for a nice pic during this slow news period.

HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGY AT THE A-SIGN?

barber dog

I absolutely love the quirky and unexpected things one comes across when walking the streets of Fremantle. Street photography for me is all about recording real life and the lifestyle of a place, in the knowledge that future generations will see my photos and get an understanding of what life was like in the 2000s.

Walking through William Street this morning I noticed this cute little dog all packed in for winter waiting at the barber shop.

FREMANTLE STUNNING SUNSET PHOTOS

Yet another stunning sunset over the Indian Ocean at Fremantle’s bathers Beach today, so I felt the urge to go out and take some photos. Click on them if you want to see a bigger pic.
