FREO MARITIME MUSEUM IN THE RAIN
A painterly photo of the Fremantle Maritime Museum in the rain, taken from the South Mole.
Heavy rain is expected later today, so drive accordingly.

LET’S CELEBRATE THE RAIN
I hope the rain will stay away from midday till mid evening on the long weekend so that the Fremantle Street Arts Festival can go ahead. It would be such a shame if it would be negatively affected by the weather as it is always so much fun.
But let’s celebrate the first decent soaking rain in Freo with two of my golden oldies. The top one is a reflection in puddles on the street and the second one of a reflection and rain drops on a car roof.

MARITIME MUSEUM WEATHER MOOD
Everyone claims to be a photographer nowadays so I decided I might as well claim to be an artist, so I photographed the rain in Fremantle in this creative way. The Modern Maritime Museum and the old cranes are always a good backdrop for mood shots.

WET FREMANTLE WINTER
There is still a lot of rain around with some very heavy showers last night and this morning and it looks like it’s going to last all week.
Here a photo I took at the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour this morning.

QUIET CONTEMPLATION OF WET FREMANTLE WINTER DAY
Instead of showing today’s wild Fremantle winter weather in photos of the angry Indian ocean, big dark clouds, wet streets or more of my favourite reflections, I went for the quiet of these photos at the veranda of the Glen Cowans photography gallery at the Round House. Raindrops on a colourful table and on a Framing Freo artwork by J Shed sculptor Greg James show our wet day.

PRETTY WET FREMANTLE ART
Wild storms, bloody cold, very wet, and just not right so near the start of summer, but I am a big believer that there is beauty in everything, so I dug out this photo from my files of a reflection of a Fremantle heritage building in the roof of a car covered in raindrops.
More of my reflection art photos are on sale as stunning Christmas presents at the Glen Cowans Photography Gallery next to the Round House!

THE ARTY CITY
If there is one decision in life I do not regret is the one to become a professional photographer. I absolutely love taking photos. I fear I might be addicted to it.
Street photography is one of my favourite parts of photography, going out for the hunt, not knowing what I will discover. Sometimes it is the quirky human element, sometimes art created by nature. It is all about the power of observation and being in the moment, concentrating on what it says on my business cards : “FINDING BEAUTY IN THE ORDINARY”
Here some shots I took in Fremantle around lunchtime today on my way back from the bank.

MOODY MARITIME MUSEUM
I was born in Holland and maybe that is why I am not a big fan of winter. I don’t like the cold and rain, but that kind of weather does create different photos. There are lovely reflections on the streets, for those who care to look for them, and looking through a window full of rain drops creates some magic as well as the photos below show.
