HAVE FREO FUN ON NEW YEAR’S EVE!

It is the last day of the year, a day where we contemplate the beauty and madness, the sins and sorrows, the love and delights of the year we had, and where we promise ourselves to do much better in the new year, and definitely get much better governments-again.

For some it will be important to party until the early hours of the first day of the new year, while others, like I, will hit the bed much earlier.

There are parties all over Freo, from the Gatsby one up on the roof terrace of the National Hotel to the family friendly early party at Clancy’s, and the old school Freo house party at The Local.

The kids-friendly part at Clancy’s starts at 4pm with a fancy dress competition for children, a bouncing castle, an obstacle course, face painting, and music by the Justin Walsh Folk Machine from 7pm.

There will be roaming entertainment from 8pm and an early countdown into the New Year at 9pm. Entry is free!

Whatever you do make sure not to drink and drive or make a nuisance of yourself to your neighbours or the community. It might be the last day of the year, but it is not the end of the world, so show respect and tolerance.
