VERY FREO MURAL IN NORTH FREMANTLE

Posted in art, city of fremantle, north fremantle, Uncategorized by freoview on October 28, 2018

Old Bridge Cellars

The Old Bridge Cellars bottleshop in North Fremantle, which already has some lovely Aboriginal art on the front of the building, has added this very Freo mural on the back of the building.

Unfortunately I don’t know who the artist is so I can’t give him/her the credit they deserve. If anyone knows, please do let me know, so that I can add it here!

I have just been informed that the artist is Shaky Jakey!

CREATIVE HAMILTON HILL COMMUNITY

Posted in art, city of cockburn, city of fremantle, community, Uncategorized by freoview on September 9, 2017

I drove over the border to the City of Cockburn today, so I took my long-expired passport to prove that I am a citizen of the world and a resident of the global village.

My epic journey took me to the IGA at Simms Road in Hamilton Hill where the community were painting a large mural.

Just great to see kids and families engaged in creating a more beautiful community!

They will be doing it tomorrow Saturday September 9 from 9am till noon, so make sure to go along for this great creative community event!

EAST WEST ONE OF FREO’S BEST

Posted in art, fremantle, retail by freoview on March 31, 2016

Too much negativity around vandalism on this blog lately, so let’s see some cute and real art instead. The East West Company in South Fremantle already has the biggest mural in Fremantle along South Terrace, but the artist has now also started on beautifying the Marine Terrace side of the huge warehouse building.

East West must have one of the largest ground level retail stores in Fremantle. I love walking through there. They have so much funky, quirky, arty, exotic stuff. I highly recommend a visit!

P.S. I don’t get paid for saying nice things about EastWest. I don’t even know who runs it!

FOOTY TRIBUTE MURAL FOR FREO

Posted in football, fremantle by freoview on March 15, 2016

Artist Adam Cicanese has put a tribute to South Fremantle Football Club Bulldogs players on a wall in the Paddy Troy Lane, and included names such as Collard, Matera, Vigona, McGrath, Haywood, Roe, Melbourne and Ugle.

All you footy fans go and get a selfie in front of it. It’s just at the back of the High Street mall, so walk through the arcade there, or park at the back of the Federal Hotel-former Rosy O’Grady.

ARTY EAST WEST DESIGN A GREAT FREO ATTRACTION

Posted in art by freoview on August 31, 2015

I love the huge trompe l’oeil mural on the EAST WEST DESIGN building on South Terrace in South Fremantle, and the good news is that there is more to come. Work has just commenced on also doing the exterior of the gigantic warehouse at Marine Terrace and that will please locals and tourists alike.

Whenever I come by I see people photographing the building, which now has become a tourist attraction and should be included in promotional brochures for Fremantle.

It is good to see a business spending money on beautifying their shop and no doubt it will entice people to go for a wander inside as well where there is an abundance of funky, quirky and creative functional wares for sale.

FREMANTLE STREET PHOTOS

A couple of street photos I took on Friday while wandering around Fremantle. Freo’s iconic artist Horatio Birdbath at work at the back of Gino’s and a gentleman reading the paper at the old-style EPICURE bar in High Street. Very Freo indeed.
