yes 1

yes 2

I just received my Marriage Equality ballot paper in the letterbox, so make sure to tick the YES box and put it in the mail fast.

I vote YES because I believe everyone should have the right to make an official commitment to love.

FREMANTLE MARRIAGE EQUALITY RALLY

Posted in city of fremantle, community, Uncategorized by freoview on September 10, 2017

A good number of people attended the Fremantle MARRIAGE EQUALITY rally and concert in Pioneer Park on Saturday afternoon.

I did not stay on for the music, so just a few photos of the start of the event.

YES! RAINBOW FLAG AT FREO TOWNHALL

Posted in city of fremantle, family, Uncategorized by freoview on August 23, 2017

rainbow flag

There is a big pro marriage equality rally under the Fremantle Rainbow sculpture on Friday at 5 pm, and Fremantle Council is flying the rainbow flag high as well.

Love is not sexist or gender bias. People who love each other should be able to marry, and it does not matter if they are same sex couples.

Voting YES matters a lot to very many people who want to commit themselves to their partner.

FREO MARRIAGE EQUALITY RALLY

Marriage equality Aug 25

An early warning that there will be a marriage equality rally held in Fremantle on Friday week August 25 at 5 pm.

It will be under the Freo Rainbow container artwork at Canning Highway, opposite Cantonment Hill.

I support the rally and marriage equality, but question the location at that time of the day, as it will be dangerous crossing the very busy road during peak hour traffic.

I do appreciate the symbolism of the rainbow artwork, but is it really safe to have the rally there?

FREO’S MARRIAGE EQUALITY STAND

Posted in city of fremantle, family, local government, Uncategorized by freoview on April 13, 2017

The City of Fremantle has adopted a Marriage Equality Proclamation to support same gender marriage, which no doubt will delight the gay and lesbian community in Freo.

The proclamation supports mariage equality irrespective of sex, sexuality or gender identity.

Councillor Doug Thompson said that as someone raised as a Catholic he had not put much thought about it and had questioned if local government should get involved in it, but he now believed it was essential that the support started at local community level.

Other Councillors expressed they believe that same sex marriage in Australia is inevitable as it will snowball from local level.

WEDDING EXPO AT MOORE&MOORE

Posted in fremantle, wedding by freoview on April 4, 2017

The Moore&Moore cafe in Fremantle’s Henry Street is organising a WEDDING EXPO this Friday April 7 from 5.30 to 8.30. Entry is free.

I have never been married but was wondering if I like eating profiteroles so much to make up for having missed out on the croquembouche at the wedding I never had. ; >(

Anyway all you young and old lovers who want more than love as a commitment, head out to the Freo West End on Friday and get some valuable information for the most special day of your life.

WEDDING AT THE FREMANTLE ROUNDHOUSE

Posted in arthur head, fremantle, roundhouse, wedding by freoview on March 31, 2017

A beautiful wedding next to the historic Fremantle Roundhouse on Friday afternoon.

Power for the music had to be supplied after hours by the Glen Cowans photo gallery because the city has not made provisions to have an easily accessible power point for weddings.

MELISSA PARKE MP MARRIED

Posted in fremantle by freoview on January 3, 2016

Parke wedding

Fremantle Federal MP Melissa Parke got married to arts patron Warwick Hemsley at the Freshwater Bay Yacht Club on Saturday.

Melissa did not invite this top bloke blogger so unfortunately I did not take any photos I can show you and the article in the Sunday Times today will have to do.

Sunday Times journalist Joe Spagnolo reports the couple left by boat from Point Walter for the wedding event at FWBYC.

Melissa is a gorgeous, genuine and sincere person whom I respect so I wish her and new hubby a great and long life together!

It will be interesting to see where Mrs Hemsley will reside and if she will move away from Fremantle or if Warwick will make the move to Freo.

WHITE RIBBON DAY FREMANTLE

Posted in fremantle, white ribbon day by freoview on November 25, 2015

The City of Fremantle held a WHITE RIBBON DAY breakfast event at Kings Square this morning to raise awareness about domestic violence in our society. One in four women in Australia have been a victim of domestic violence by a partner or former partner and that is totally unacceptable, so we all need to speak out when we witness or hear about domestic violence.
