What horror to see that infamous Queensland mining millionaire Clive Palmer is back on the political scene. Make Australia Great. Yes please, but we don’t need your help Clive! Thanks.

I noticed the billboard on the left at Little Lefroy yesterday and thought it best to juxtapose it with something much more significant; Marriage Equality.

YES! WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY SPECIAL

The first Fremantle gay or lesbian couple who gets married, once marriage equality has been legislated in parliament, I’ll do your wedding photography for free!

My mate Saff Ali has offered to be the second shooter, so you’ll get two professional photographers capturing that very special day for free.

Saff is the one with the model looks, so at least you’ll have one good-looking shooter at your wedding.

It’s an unconditional offer, so no need to read the fine print.

When it happens email me, so we can have a chat: roel.loopers@iinet.net.au

GREAT MARRIAGE EQUALITY ART

A wall at Fremantle’s Stevens reserve has become the favourite canvas for political graffiti artworks, and the latest one by an anonymous artist about marriage equality is a ripper again.

Posted in city of fremantle, community, Uncategorized by freoview on September 10, 2017

A good number of people attended the Fremantle MARRIAGE EQUALITY rally and concert in Pioneer Park on Saturday afternoon.

I did not stay on for the music, so just a few photos of the start of the event.

There is a second MARRIAGE EQUALITY YES! rally and concert in Fremantle this Saturday, September 9 at 1 pm.

It will be at Pioneer Park, opposite the Fremantle Railway Station, and not as previously promoted at Kings Square!

There is a good line-up of musicians, as the poster above shows, so come and support it!

GETTING PRIORITIES RIGHT

Posted in city of fremantle, local government, Uncategorized by freoview on August 26, 2017

Getting priorities right is very interesting in government and the media, as these two examples show.

While Fremantle Council has been deliberating long-term strategic projects such as Kings Square, Cantonment Hill, Fremantle Oval and South Quay, the Post community paper reports that our rich neighbours in Mosman Park debated the mundane; if Mr Whippy icecream vans should be allowed to play Greensleeves on weekends, after some residents complained about the nuisance factor of the music.

The TV stations did live telecasts from the Mosman Council chambers about this pretty pathetic council item, but could not bother to turn up in Fremantle yesterday for the very important Marriage Equality rally.

Getting one’s priorities right is not always easy, it appears.

COLOURFUL FREO RAINBOW YES RALLY

Posted in city of fremantle, family, Uncategorized by freoview on August 25, 2017

yes

What a delightful Fremantle MARRIAGE EQUALITY YES! rally it was late this afternoon with many hundreds of people turning up.

There were a lot of families, some dogs, and all the colours of the rainbow.

The rally was organised by Labor federal MP Josh Wilson and supported by Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt.

My personal highlight was to see the Mayor’s oh so cute little baby daughter Aiofe at her first political rally with mum Emma.

P.S. community groups please feel free to use these photos. Just drag and drop them. A photo credit will be appreciated!

FREO MARRIAGE EQUALITY RALLY TODAY!

Posted in city of fremantle, community, family, Uncategorized by freoview on August 25, 2017

Marriage equality Aug 25

The Fremantle MARRIAGE EQUALITY Rally is on at 5 pm today under the Rainbow container artwork, so come along if you want to support love.

It is a shame that what should be a minor issue has blown out of proportion. What’s the big deal of allowing same sex people to also express their commitment to each other?

It really does not affect anyone but them, as thousands of gays and lesbians already live together, bringing up children and making a contribution to our communities.

Love is a beautiful and positive thing and we should all support that.

Many churches around Australia have been expressing support for it, and those who don’t support it will not be forced to hold same sex marriage ceremonies.

The event is just opposite Cantonment Hill, so parking could be an issue. Best to come by bike or on foot, or park at the East Street jetty or near the Leftbank pub.

It should be a good feel, positive event about love, so come along!

YES! RAINBOW FLAG AT FREO TOWNHALL

Posted in city of fremantle, family, Uncategorized by freoview on August 23, 2017

rainbow flag

There is a big pro marriage equality rally under the Fremantle Rainbow sculpture on Friday at 5 pm, and Fremantle Council is flying the rainbow flag high as well.

Love is not sexist or gender bias. People who love each other should be able to marry, and it does not matter if they are same sex couples.

Voting YES matters a lot to very many people who want to commit themselves to their partner.
