Rain patterns on the car windscreen make for an arty image of the lighthouse on the Fremantle South Mole.

It’s very wet and windy out there and the Indian Ocean looked so beautifully wild when I drove along the coast. Go check it out!

Yet another stunning sunset over the Indian Ocean at Fremantle’s bathers Beach today, so I felt the urge to go out and take some photos. Click on them if you want to see a bigger pic.

Good Friday fishing

It is Good Friday so many people out on the Fremantle South Mole to catch a free feed of fish this morning.

Interesting to note that IGA on Hampton Road is closed but Peaches and the Fremantle Markets are open today.

BEAUTIFYING FREMANTLE PORT FOR SALE

Fremantle Port is tidying up for the planned sale/50 year lease with a new carpark and light poles near the old police station and a paint job and new fences for the lighthouses on the south and north mole.

It will only be a matter of time I assume till they do what real estate agents recommend when selling property and that is to get the smell of coffee and flowers throughout the port.

GLOOMY DAY IN FREO

Posted in fremantle, weather by freoview on July 28, 2015

mood

This photo taken at the Fremantle south mole today shows the dark and gloomy mood I am in. Things need to improve fast before I start kicking myself in the bum because life is too short and too precious to run around clouded in negativity.

What better way to snap out of it than taking a few photos and reading a good book, while a big pot of soup is cooking on the stove.

I noticed an interesting ship coming into Fremantle port this morning, so had to check it out of course. It is the JOIDES Resolution, an ocean drilling vessel that is studying the oceans of the Earth and paleoclimate through scientific drilling.

COLD, WET AND WILD FREMANTLE

Posted in fremantle, weather by freoview on July 22, 2014

rain 1

Is it just my perception, or is this one of the wettest winters we have had in Fremantle for many years? I can’t recall day after day of rain, and it has been very heavy at times as well. It rained all night from early yesterday evening, the sky is black at times and rainbows pop up like popcorn. If this goes on I will have to move to the Kimberley because I don’t like the wet and cold at all.

Here a photo I took at the South Mole this morning. bbbrrrrrrr

RORO ENTERING FREMANTLE PORT

Port sunset

A Roll on Roll off (RoRo) vessel entering Fremantle Port at sunset. It is an amazing sight to see these large ships, that have thousands of vehicles aboard,  coming into the harbour. How do they stay afloat, I often wonder.

FREMANTLE PORT IMPRESSION

Posted in fremantle, photography by freoview on October 8, 2013

A day without power yesterday meant I had time on my hands after returning from Perth from a photo shoot, as I could not work at the computer. Walking around Fremantle and reading a good  book on the South Mole made the time fly. While there I took this photo from inside my car through the passenger window. I like photos that look forward and backward at the same time, maybe because it’s something we humans can’t do without the aid of mirrors and reflections
