I could not stop myself from going out again and take more photos of this morning’s fog in Fremantle.

I drove along the Swan river to Blackwall Reach and Point Walter to take these images.

SMOKE HAZE OVER FREMANTLE

Posted in fremantle, fremantle port, photography, smoke, Uncategorized by freoview on May 13, 2017

I got up a few hours later than I normally do on a Saturday morning but there was still plenty of smog around when I drove onto the Fremantle South Mole.

Fog always reminds me of my youth in the Netherlands where we had plenty of it and where my newspaper run on the bicycle sometimes could take twice as long because I could not see further than twenty metres.

Nice also to bump into Diana on Victoria Quay who was taking photos for the lovely on-line magazine: http://fremantleshippingnews.com.au

SMOKE HAZE TO STAY FOR A WHILE

Posted in fremantle, smoke by freoview on February 7, 2015

smoke haze

With a heat wave expected on the weekend and beyond the smoke haze over the city is likely to stay, and I’ll check it out at sunrise today. While it is not very good for our health it creates stunning orange-coloured sunsets.

Here a photo I took at Victoria Quay at Fremantle harbour on midday on Friday.

SMOKE HAZE SMOTHERS FREMANTLE

Posted in Uncategorized by freoview on January 5, 2014

I woke up to the smell of smoke this morning, and on my way to have a coffee I noticed heavy smoke haze all over Fremantle. On returning home I read a smoke warning has been given for the area from Denmark to Geraldton, and people on Facebook claim there are fires at Walpole and Denmark causing the smog over the city.

One has to feel for asthma sufferers who might be struggling a bit for air today. Hopefully the seabreeze will get rid of the smoke.

EERIE SUNSET OVER FREMANTLE

Posted in fremantle, photography by freoview on November 9, 2013

What an amazing and eerie sunset last night. It must have been the smoke from the bush fire near Manjimup that created the haze. I kicked myself for not having a longer lens with me when I noticed it, but these shots give an impression of what it looked like at Fremantle harbour. Life is pretty special!

MORNING HAZE CREATES MOODY PHOTOS

Posted in fremantle, photography by freoview on June 19, 2013

Whenever I have to drive somewhere I always take the scenic route, not the fastest one, so when I had to go from Fremantle to South Perth this morning I drove along the river that was as flat as a mirror, with not a ripple in sight. The early morning haze made it all look even more beautiful, as the photos below show.

PERFECT VALENTINE’S SUNSET

Posted in fremantle by freoview on February 14, 2012

Is there a more perfect end to Valentine’s Day than the amazing sunset we had in Fremantle today, thanks to the bushfires down south. The smog, called haze by some, was around us from early morning and the smell of smoke was everywhere. I felt sorry for asthma sufferers. But love was in the air, so all those romantics would have loved it.
