I think I must be addicted to photography, because when I haven’t taken any photos for a day or two I have a real desire to go out and try to discover some, so after a busy day volunteering at the Roundhouse I decided to go out again and take some happy snaps of the beautiful sun set at the Fremantle Martime Museum in the port.

JUST ANOTHER SUNSET IN FREO PARADISE

I doubt there is much intelligence left in me, if there ever was any in the first place. Why else would I stand in the freezing cold breeze, trying to recover from pneumonia, and take photos of the dramatic sunset over Fremantle? It’s called stupidity I believe. If only I could remember.

Anyway, gorgeous clouds and I scored big time with all those lovely young chicks from Amaroo retirement village waving at me from the bus.

DARK CLOUDS OVER FREMANTLE

Posted in city of fremantle, heritage, historic, photography, rain, roundhouse, Uncategorized by freoview on October 10, 2018

rain

There were some very black clouds over Fremantle when I drove onto the South Mole at 7am this morning, so there is still a bit of rain to come, by the look of it.

On my daily pilgrimage to Chalkys for my Espresso fix the light of the rising sun just hit the Roundhouse, with the very dark clouds as backdrop, which made for a dramatic photo.

BEAUT SUNRISE ON A STORMY FREO DAY

sunrise

My traditional 7am Saturday coffee catch up with my good mate Henty was at B Shed in Fremantle Port this morning, and did I need two double Espressos badly after a sleepless night.

I love early mornings and the many stunning sunrises we get here in Fremantle, so took this photo toward C Shed, where unusually the Leeuwin II was at berth.

Only 37 passengers had booked the early Rottnest Express ferry trip to quokka island and that is no surprise with the wet and stormy forecast for the weekend.

Fremantle had some glorious sunny days but now the clouds are moving in and we are expecting some rain tonight and tomorrow, and possibly on the weekend as well.

WOW! STUNNING FREMANTLE SUNSET

sunset here 1

What a truly amazing sunset that was this evening over the Indian Ocean at Fremantle.

It was so incredibly beautiful that it took my breath away. Nature is just so more awesome than any manmade stuff.

SO VERY LUCKY TO LIVE IN FREMANTLE

The ocean has always been the big leveller in my life. It is the place where everything comes in perspective and where one’s own relevance diminishes in the realisation of the enormity of the universe.

When the body gets invigorated by the cold storm that sprays water in one’s face and when one sees the mighty dramatic sky above the roaring waves, one realises that we are all so different, but so very much the same.

The oceans makes me more aware of our vulnerability and that we all want to be liked, loved and respected and that basically we want to wake up tomorrow and live in peaceful harmony with our fellow human beings and with nature.

Late yesterday afternoon when I took these photos on the South Mole I though how incredibly lucky I am to be living in beautiful Fremantle, a city with a strong, caring and compassionate community and that I live in this amazingly beautiful island country of Australia.

SUNSET AT FREO’S BATHERS BEACH

How can one not love a city like Fremantle that has sunsets like this one today.

I shot it at Bathers Beach and there were close to a hundred people watching it.

That was a stunning sky over Fremantle most of today, so I went out late afternoon to take some photos from Monument Hill and the South Mole.
