MAGIC FREMANTLE PORT SUNRISE

Posted in city of fremantle, fremantle ports, photography, Uncategorized by freoview on September 10, 2017

port sunrise

Beautiful dark clouds and very strong directional early sun rays made for a pretty magic early morning in Fremantle Port today.

There is rain forecast, so this looks like a good indication of it coming in.

I heard that yesterday humpback whales were frolicking inside the port, but I missed them.

WINTER FINALLY ARIVING IN FREMANTLE

Posted in city of fremantle, photography, Uncategorized, winter by freoview on July 1, 2017

clouds

It looks like winter will be arriving in Fremantle a month late this year, with BOM stating it was the hottest June in history after the coldest summer.

I took this photo of the very dark big clouds over the Maritime Museum at 6.45 am this Saturday morning, on my way to coffee at the Moore&Moore cafe.

It was taken at a ridiculously high 6400 ISO because I never travel with a tripod, so needed to do a hand-held shot in quite strong wind.

You’ll get the message. I am trying to find an excuse for the low quality of the image because I am a lazy shooter. ; >)

REMEMBER THE SOUND OF RAIN DROPS?

Posted in fremantle, rain, Uncategorized, weather by freoview on June 20, 2017

clouds

Clouds are moving in over Fremantle this afternoon, but will they bring the much needed rain?

The BOM says it could be one of the driest month of June on record and the dams are not filling up enough, while people have to keep watering their gardens and lawns.

Forecast is for rain on Wednesday night, so fingers crossed.

morning 2

Will we finally see some rain in Fremantle today and tomorrow after a rainless April?

There are some promising clouds this morning as the photos I took at the South Mole at 6.45am show.

RAIN CAME BACK TO FREMANTLE

dark-clouds

There were some very black clouds over Fremantle Port early this morning and there have been a few good showers already, so now hoping it will clear up for the Little Italy by the Sea festival that starts at midday at Bathers Beach today.

I took this photo at 6.30 am.

STUNNING FREMANTLE SUNSET

sunset-1 sunset-2

There is a bit more wet and cold weather coming our way in Fremantle this week, so no need to get your bathers out of the mothballs yet.

While I warmly dressed but still freezing at Bathers Beach late this afternoon two young people went for a swim. They did not last long but they are much braver than I am.

CLOUDY MORNING AT FREMANTLE PORT

Posted in fremantle, fremantle ports, photography, weather, western australia by freoview on August 26, 2016

port morning

The sky looked pretty threatening at Fremantle Port, but very beautiful, this morning and the forecast is for some very heavy rain over the weekend, so be prepared.

I took this photo just before 8 this morning as the cold winter has made me a lazy bum, so I got up too late again to enjoy the sun rise.

Talking about the port, I hear QUBE will take over the operations of Patricks stevedoring soon.
