FANTASTIC FREO FOLK FESTIVAL

Posted in city of fremantle, concert, festivals, music, Uncategorized by freoview on October 11, 2017

Folk Fest line up and times

Who says nothing is happening in Fremantle, a local resident said to me this morning, while we were watching the installation of the Felice Varini artwork all along High Street from the  far west end to the Townhall.

A book shop owner also told me how much she liked this kind of public art.

We are fast approaching the best Freo season with the start of festivals and events and this Saturday the big FREMANTLE FOLK FESTIVAL by Clancy’s at Princess May Park is a great sign of good things to come.

The festival is a family-friendly event with lots of things to do for children. It starts at 11 am and finishes just before midnight.

Have a dance! Have fun and embrace the Freo lifestyle!

HOT WEEKEND AT FREO’S CLANCY’S

Clancys chili and bbq. Sept 24

There is always something new to keep the Fremantle community delighted, and this event is a very HOT one!

Clancy’s is organising the inaugural Smokin’ BBQ and Chilli Festival in Princess May Park this coming Saturday September 23 from 10am-11pm, and on Sunday the 24th from 11am-4 pm.

What better way to start the school holidays for the challenged parents than to partake in the chilli eating competition, and for all the family to learn how to have the best BBQ at home.

There will be food and other stalls, and knowing the Clancy’s mob there will no doubt be some live music and entertainment as well.

It’s a FREE event!

There is a fantastic line-up of local musos to support their mate at this family friendly event at Princess May Park.

Tickets are only $ 25,00 for a great balmy night out and help someone who deserves our support.

FREO’S OLD BOYS SCHOOL VANDALISM

Posted in fremantle, heritage, vandalism by freoview on February 19, 2016

The City of Fremantle has just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars renovating the heritage-listed former Boys School/FTI building at Princess May Park, but already the anti-social behaviour has started. The little back yard is full with booze bottles and rubbish and the metal fences have been damaged and pulled off their hinges.

I wonder why the CCTV camera in the park was removed as it was a great help to identify anti-social behaviour in the area fast, to the delight of Clancy’s. The mast is still standing high but the camera is no longer there.
