Congratulations to Fremantle’s Clancy’s Fish Pub which is celebrating its 30th birthday!

During my good old drinking days I spent many hours a week at Clancy’s drinking Guinness and wine and eating lots of fish&chips, whitebait and fried mice.

I danced to exhaustion on the great music of the Zydecats almost every Sunday night and attended many festivals Clancy’s organised in Princess May Park.

The Clancy’s crew are the best people and the family atmosphere in the pub makes sure there are very few occasions of the odd bad drunk.

Melbourne Cup at Clancy’s was a really day out where I caught up with friends at 11am to stagger home early evening.

Clancy’s is a truly Freo icon that looks after children as well as it looks after grown ups.

Happy birthday Fisher brothers and all the staff and thanks for all the good times!

St Pats Clancys

I am sure many in Fremantle are just waiting for St Patrick’s Day, so here a couple of pubs that got something special on this Saturday.

It’s the day that starts off with people wearing green but at the end of the day many of them will look pretty green as well. Oh yes that delicious good old Guinness!

Lots of music at Clancy’s and specials at The Federal, so enjoy the day. The forecast its for Irish weather. Rain.

I love summers in Fremantle because there is always so much on. This weekend we have the Laneway Festival at one end of town on the Esplanade and the Smoking in the Port BBQ event in Princess May Park at the other end of the city.

There are food, chilli and BBQ stalls, competitions, music, pork ribs, brisket, chicken, lamb, seafood and more. Entry is free and Clancy’s will be serving drinks.

It’s not Christmas yet, so why not have a pre celebration with Blue Shaddy at Clancys Fish Pub in Fremantle tonight from 8 pm.

You will have all of Sunday and Christmas Eve to recover before getting serious about the three wise men and Joseph and Maria and the little bub.

An early message that the FREMANTLE FOLK FESTIVAL will be on in two weeks from now at Princess May Park next to Clancy’s on October 14.

The Pigram Brothers are coming all the way from Broome and there is a great line up of performers, as the poster above shows.

Princess Park is a lovely venue for it, with walls around it, so a good venue to bring kids as well.

Tickets from OZTIX, http://www.clancysfishpub.com.au and at the door.

See you there!

FREMANTLE CLANCY’S ON FIRE

This sounds like fun!

This Saturday night we roll into Fremantle town to play for the beautiful people at Clancy’s Fish Pub , with a pretty cool line up Nate Lansdell, Gavin Sounness, Matt Hantler, Tom FisherAshlea Reale, Kerryn Curwood, Mike de Velta (on harp), Steve Gibson will be entertaining in a campfire singalong styled setting .

Performing in a circle in the centre of the room the Ring of Fire breaks down the barriers between audience and musician as everyone gathers around the circle and join in the fun. Unrehearsed and always a slightly different line up, the Ring of Fire is a little edgy, fresh, and exciting .

This is one of those nights where the audience become the show as we sing our way through a massive list of our favourite tunes. Just like a campfire singalong, or old time jamboree ….  Welcome to the Ring of Fire. Doors open at 8pm .
