FREMANTLE ELECTION FORUM ON 28TH

Posted in community, democracy, election, fremantle, western australia by freoview on February 7, 2017

The WA state election campaign is heating up with lots of promises, so time to get rid of the ‘fake facts’ and grill the candidates to see what they will be doing, or promise to do, for Fremantle.

The traditional election forum will be held on Tuesday February 28 from 6.pm at the Notre Dame University Tannock Hall on the corner of Cliff and Croke streets, so dot it down in your diary.

I certainly hope the Election Forum is better run than the one last year for the Federal Election. I appreciate Refugees and the government’s “turning back the boats policy” along with foreign aid are emotive issues but it dominated question time along with Roe 8 and diesel particulates whilst there wasn’t one question on jobs, the use of 457 Visas, taxation and tax avoidance and any of a dozen other issues.

Hopefully the organisers and moderator look at this and change the format to ensure are broader range of questions are put to the candidates.
