Freo's View

We humans are a funny lot and I had to laugh out loud when I noticed all these cars parked along the Cappuccino Strip on Christmas Day.

It was not as if there was a shortage of parking bays in Fremantle as there was hardly anyone in town, but it must have been on the bucket list of some of those who went to Sandrino and Pizza Bella Roma for lunch to finally park on the strip.

This is when all of the motor enthusiasts from Perth’s depressing outer suburbs come into Freo for its unique charm and lack of hot tilt up concrete strip malls, and then bemoan the lack of car parks immediately in front of their restaurant of choice (Dome or Coffee Club). Knowing the city won’t be paying holiday pay for parking rangers, they enjoy the mild rush they get in pushing the boundaries and parking on the verge. Livin on the edge, rebels.
