The biggest cruise ship to visit Australia finally left Fremantle Port with an hour delay today because a bigger crane was needed to lift the gangplank due to high tide and a very strong sea breeze, and what an impressive sight the Ovation of the Seas was at 6 pm today when she floated past the Maritime Museum.

It is really nice to see so many people in Fremantle and so many people from all over Perth coming to the port to wave Aussie flags and say goodbye.

    Bigger crane not needed due to tide or winds. This type of crane has been used on FPA gangways on just about every type of cruise ship visiting Fremantle for many years. It was unfortunate that the crane broke down while setting up to take the gangways off
