DEAD WHALE ON FREO’S BATHERS BEACH

A three-metre long baby whale was discovered on Fremantle’s Bathers Beach right in front of the Bathers Beach House pub this morning and rangers were keeping a watchful eye over it in the very stormy conditions.

It is always a sad sight to see dead animals, especially these huge creatures of the oceans.

You’re the expert Glen. I know nothing about whales or the beautiful world under water.

Not sure that it is too much of a baby, I missed seeing it at the beach as it had already been removed but to me it looks like a long finned pilot whale or false killer whale. 3m would probably be a sub adult, possibly a female. And yes very sad to see this, definitely a death early in its life.
