BATHERS BEACH ART AND SAILING SHOW

Exciting news from the great Fremantle SCULPTURE@BATHERS art exhibition! The show will be held for the third time next year from February 25 till March 12, 2017 at Bathers Beach. 85 of the very best and renowned Western Australian 3D artists have already confirmed their participation in this brilliant show case of WA art.

But there is a whole new aspect to the show with the international World Match Racing Championships being held off Bathers Beach during the second week of S@B! This will give the Western Australian artists international live coverage all over the planet. Last year’s WSC was seen in over 100 countries, so that will be great exposure for the exhibition.

One of Perth’s best designers will design a new logo for Sculpture@Bathers and one of the participating artists is working on a design for T-shirts. Make sure to be early and buy one of these collectors’ items when they are on sale early next year!

I agree Martin and the organisers are aware that the promotion in Perth was very bad and needs to improve. It was embarrassing to see only a handful of people most days, because no one knew it was going on. That will be improved and the collaboration between the sculpture show, the sailing event and holding othere events will make a huge difference to audience participation.

    Hi Roel,

The last WMRC sailing event was quite spectacular, but was not promoted in Freo / Perth particularly well. I got most of my info from your blog, and would not have known it was on otherwise. The CoF seemed quite hands-off for some reason. Unless a visitor to Freo happened to visit Bathers Beach they would not have known it was going on.

There is a big sailing community in Perth (mostly on the river), and I’m sure that many more would have visited Freo for a look if they knew it was going on. Maybe we can encourage the CoF to promote the sailing as well as the sculpture exhibition next time?
